At the time of booking your appointment we will allocate your massage therapist/treatment specialist, whose time is exclusively dedicated to you. If, however, you are late for your appointment then we will endeavour to keep your appointment duration to its original length provided there are no other appointments following yours. If another massage/treatment is booked in then you can either opt to shorten your massage/treatment time or reschedule your appointment for another time.

In general, a few conditions would prevent you from getting a massage. The first trimester of pregnancy is generally considered off-limits for massage, as are active chemotherapy or other intensive medical treatments. If you have a serious medical condition and are unsure if a massage would be safe for you, we recommend you speak with your primary care provider to get approval first.

You cannot receive massage therapy if you:

  • Have eaten a heavy meal within two hours of the start of your therapy session.
  • Consumed alcohol or non-prescribed drugs before or directly after massage.

  • Have serious medical conditions such as cancer, serious heart disorder, stomach ulcers or other ailments of the internal organs.
  • Have had major surgery in the last 12 months or minor surgery in the last 6 months.
  • If you are pregnant, we are unable to offer any treatments.

On your first meeting with the therapist, we will require you to complete a short questionnaire so that we have a full understanding of any health-related matters which may affect the massage treatment provided.

You may undress to your level of comfort. You must keep your underwear on. If you do not want to, we can provide disposable underwear.

The massage therapist will always ensure that you are properly covered.

It’s best to discuss this in person with your therapist, so they can advise based on a number of factors you might consider. We’d usually recommend getting a massage every 2 – 4 weeks as part of a regular personal self-care routine. Weekly/fortnightly sessions are recommended for those experiencing an on-going issue/complaint.

For some people, a massage is an occasional treat, but others use massage as an important part of their self-care plan. If you want to use massage as a stress management tool, many people opt for monthly or bi-weekly massages. For those who are using massage therapy to heal from an injury, more frequently treatments may be recommended.
